Don't bother reading this...

If the laws of physics break down at the point of singularity in what we perceive to be the centre of a black hole could there not conceivably be another universe on the "other side"??

I have been thinking about this for a while now and since I am a bit of an astrophysicists wannabe I thought I would write it down

So...

In a black hole the huge gravity - approaching infinity - compresses everything down to a single point - the singularity - where apparently the laws of physics no longer apply. All conceived notions of understanding about space and time are out the window. Fundamental particles are compressed so tightly that they loose all of their individual characteristics and are by our understanding a uniform ball of matter/energy that outside of the gravitational force of a black hole would be so unstable as to cause an unfathomable explosion. Coupled with the fact that time as we know it doesn't exist in a black hole I conceive that all the matter that enters a black hole could be released at a single point in time and space. Like a big bang perhaps? If our perception of space holds no relevance inside a black hole is it not possible that what we perceive to be a celestial body the size of a star could actually contain within it a vast expanse of space?

Are we inside a black hole right now?

Remembrance Day

I have to work on Remembrance Day. Many people at my firm don't. Banks are closed, Money and Bond Markets are closed. Stock Markets are open. Oh Well. Not really a big deal and not the point of this post.

There seems to be quite a movement brewing to have Nov. 11th become an official holiday. I must officially come out against this position. It seems to me the most importaint part of remembrance is to educate children and youth about history and the sacrifices previous generations made so they could have it so good. If the 11th were a holiday what would kids be doing? The same thing they do whenever the get a day off school, screw around with their friends. I think they are much better off in school having a moment of silence at 11AM, attending an assembaly, taking a field trip to their community cerimonies and talking about Canada's military history with their teachers.

November 11th is already a prtty busy day in stores and lines to cross boarder...Do we really need to make it a PreUSThanksgivingSale? Is that what the point is?

So what does "regular basis" really mean?

If I make a blog entery say...every 3 months...that would tecnically be a regular basis. Right?!?!?

Things are good here and I have a few ideas for posts so I'll try and get her back up and running.

Big Bang Theory: A Marathon

The last few days of my vacation were not only devoted to caring for Anna and her new sister Molly. I also undertook and succeeded in the task of catching up on a TV sitcom that has been recommended to me by a number of parties.

Big Bang Theory is one of the best sitcoms I have seen in a long time. I officially declare it the best currently in syndication (edging out The Office)and very high in the rankings for best of all time (with the likes of Seinfeld and 3rd Rock From The Sun).

Sadly, I am back at work now. And much work I have. If only I was a Theoretical Physicist....apparently all they do is play video games, eat ethnic take out, and watch Star Trek.

Sweet Vacation!

This is it! Pam goes in to be induced tomorrow so I have decided to start my delayed vacation today. I'll spend some extra time with Anna today as we will most certainly be neglecting her for the next few weeks.

Of course this vacation I will be changing diapers and trying to get in some sleep rather than sipping drinks on the deck. Just the same, it will be nice not spending my days at the office for most of July.

I'll be checking my work email periodically but home is probably best until the 22nd of July.

More too come...

TV Recommendation

"Louis" airs on FX, Tuesdays.

3 episodes in and laughing my ass off.

Jersey Jones

Well. That's it. There is not a single Toronto FC jersey in all of Sarnia. To be honest, I'm surprised, but I guess I shouldn't be.

The girl at Sports Check said "we get them in sometimes but we never know what we are going to get until the truck gets here" Which is proof that a city like Sarnia gets all the leftover crap that people in larger centers won't pay msrp for. But that is another topic all together.

I have tickets to a game in a couple of weeks and I was really hoping to properly support the Reds. Maybe I can find one on the way to the game. I prefer to wash a shirt before I wear it, get the new carpet smell off of it.

Oh well.

Go Reds!

Lets try this again.

About 6 months ago I googled myself. The first thing that came up was a Blog I started and stopped in Spring of 2008. To be honest I was a little embarrassed. Anyone googling me would would find a blog with a stupid title that I started but only contributed to for a month.

So. I killed it.

Deleted the whole thing including my profile.

Now when I'm googled my stupid facebook page - which I also haven't used in months - is #1, not alone there I guess.

I will attempt to stick with this new Blog, and contribute to it on a regular basis. It is unlikely to contain any great wisdom or in site. In fact I expect it will only be read by a couple people anyway. You know who you are. You're reading this right now. NERD!
